Hospital Policies

Helping Us Stay On Schedule For Every Patient

Our goal is to provide high-quality medical care for your pet in a timely manner. Due to high appointment demand, missed or late appointments can delay care for other patients. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us stay on schedule. We offer automated reminders via phone, text and email; however, it remains the client's responsibility to keep track of scheduled appointments.

All sick exams, diagnostics, and treatments require an active VCPR — meaning your pet must have been physically examined by a Taunton Animal Hospital veterinarian within the past 12 months (or more frequently based on needs).

  • We require at least 24 hours' notice for all cancellations or rescheduled appointments.
  • Please call our office to cancel or reschedule — do NOT cancel via email or text, as these are not always monitored.
  • Call: (508) 822-2981. If unavailable, please leave a detailed voicemail with your full name and phone number.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, your pet may not be seen that day and you may need to reschedule for a future appointment.

A no-show is defined as missing an appointment without notifying us. Missed appointments are recorded in your pet's medical record. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) are considered no-shows.

Repeated No-Shows: After 2 no-shows, a deposit will be required to book future appointments (non-refundable and non-transferable for same-day cancellations or reschedules). After 3 no-shows, we may terminate the veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

A non-refundable prepayment (equal to the exam fee) is required when scheduling. If you miss your appointment without notice, you may be removed from our client list and future booking may not be available.

Please allow 24 hours' notice for all prescription refill requests. Many medications can be prepared in advance and placed in our client pick-up box (located on our front stairs) for convenient pickup.
We understand that unexpected situations can happen. These policies help us provide the best possible care to all patients while keeping our schedule running smoothly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our patients, clients, and staff safe and on time!
